DIY Attempt: Stamped Wooden Spoon and Fork

So, I mentioned in my entry about the DIY Workshop that one of my favorites by Candidly Pretty is the wooden spoon and fork concept. So, I was trying to replicate this last Sunday. We went to Greenhills for the usual family night and I went shopping for my supplies.

My first stop is Bridges Bookstore in V-mall where I got these:

Left to right: Popsicle sticks Php 11.00; Stamp pad with
black ink Php 27.75; Stamp pad ink Php 11.00

Next stop, Regina's Gift Shop in Shoppesville where I got these rubber stamps:

Alphabet Rubber Stamps Php 149.00 each

I know I can get these at a lower price at Wellmanson's in Quiapo, but as usual, due to my low EQ I could not wait and was excited to try it out.

And the last stop, I got these wooden spoon and fork from Unimart Grocery:

Wooden Spoon and Fork Php 59.75 per pack

So, once we got home, I opened my loot for the day and started working. I bought the Popsicle sticks so I can practice on those instead of using the wooden spoons and forks right away.

I used both lower and upper case combinations and I am saddened that I did not get the look I was aiming for. It looked like some grade school project!

Top: All upper case
Bottom: Combination of upper and lower case

So it is back to the drawing board for me. I need to find alphabet rubber stamps that will yield better results than this sorry looking sticks. I will probably have to order from the US for something nice or have it personalized in Recto. I will see which will be more cost-effective for me.
