My First Birthday as a Missus

My birthday last year as a single lady was really fun. I have a post about it here. I celebrated it in a  Jollibee kiddie party and I had a sack full of presents and more than a thousand pictures from JP Recodo who covered the event for me.

This year, I decided it was time for a change... of hairstyle. By the time of my birthday, my hair was already a little over the bust line. It was already long and whenever people asked me why I am not getting a hair cut, I tell them I am getting ready to get a perm. So finally, a day after my birthday, I got a digiperm from Azta Urban Salon in Robinson's Metroeast. I chose a Senior Hairstylist and got Lea. She was really nice, explaining how the procedure is since it's my first time and dishing out tips on how to take care of  digipermed hair. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of my newly permed hair because I was hurrying to go to work after my salon appointment. LOL

But I do have a picture of my perm now:

It has already been over a month since I got the digiperm and it is still all curly even now. My hairfall returned initially in the first week of getting the treatment. But now I have minimal hairfall again. My hair also did not get dry and brittle. It is healthy and quite normal.

I changed my hair care products to fit my new hairstyle. I used to use Dove Intensive Care as my shampoo and conditioner. But now I am using Herbal Essences "Hello Hydration" and Ka'Fen Cuflsiek.

Before, I just used Ka'Fen once a week. It's a one minute treatment and really helps keep my hair healthy. This also helped stop my hairfall problem. So I've been using this for some time now. But since I got a perm, I felt the need to use it everyday to keep my hair soft and strong. Herbal Essences "Hello Hydration" smells nice and does not rob my hair of it's natural oil. Am thinking, even if I return to having straight hair, I will keep using this shampoo. Smells yummy, too.

Now, the after shower regimen can be tricky. I've tried Pantene Miracle Water and Vitress since these helped keep my hair from being frizzy when it was still straight. But this did not help with my curls. I've been keeping this bottle of Lucido L for some time now. I got it from one of my BDJ Boxes and never got to use it since it does say it's for curly hair. Oh, how I love this product! It smells wonderful and it keeps my curly hair intact! My locks are always good as new! I can tell the difference because when I don't use this, I become an afro, dude. LOL

I am happy with my curly locks, it's proving to be easier to maintain. No more ironing of my hair whenever I go out so it will look straight. You see, my hair is quite uncertain of itself. It's wavy in all the wrong places and straight in awkward areas. So now, I take a shower, let the towel absorb the excess water of my hair while I go about getting dressed. Once that's done, I just put on some Lucido L on my curls, scrunch it a little, and voila! I am off! It cut my daily routine by almost an hour!
